Managing Director, Fixed Income & Economic Analysis

“Chip” Norton is the Managing Director of Fixed Income and Economic Analysis and is involved in a full range of investment and research activities for Fortigent, including asset allocation, investment strategies and portfolio analysis. Chip oversees the search and selection of Fortigent’s fixed income and low volatility managers and strategies, assists in the evaluation and selection of alternative investment strategies, and is a member of the Investment Committee, Product Development Committee, and Investment Quality Assurance Committee. He is also the Portfolio Manager for Fortigent’s Tax-Advantaged Debt Fund.

Chip is the author of “Investing for Income,” published by McGraw-Hill in 1999 as well as over 160 published articles on investing. He has appeared on CNNFn, Good Morning America and numerous national radio shows as an expert on investing and portfolio allocation.

Before joining Fortigent, Chip was in the investment industry for 22 years and worked for firms such as Dreyfus and Fidelity Investments. He was a member of the Investment Policy Committee while at Standard & Poor’s and was most recently the Chief Investment Officer with ING Mutual Funds. His responsibilities at ING covered all aspects of the asset management group including asset allocation and strategic product development. Chip earned a Bachelor of Science – Specialty Finance degree from the University of Vermont, and he holds NASD Series 6, 7, and 65 licenses.
