Charles Stump

Charles Stump is responsible for new product development, growth and continued scalability of all Fortigent software products focusing on architecture and implementation. Charles Stump manages the software engineering division in the departments of software development and maintenance. In addition to these responsibilities, he also manages the IT infrastructure for Fortigent which encompasses security and business continuity.

Charles has a broad background in technology and project management. Charles started his career in software engineering in the aerospace and defense contracting world where he wrote software engineering standards, policies and guidebooks for NASA. He went on to be a cofounder of his own technology company and eventually managed the sale of that company. His most recent position was Senior Manager at IBM, managing the software development effort for the IRS Modernized e-File project. This large-scale development project represented over 100 people and $30M and now serves as the core system for filing all corporate taxes in the U.S.

Charles is a graduate of Virginia Tech and holds a BS in Computer Science. He also holds a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
