Fortigent Strengthens Research Team with New Fixed Income Director

Rockville, MD, July 21, 2009 — Fortigent LLC, a leading provider of outsourced wealth management solutions for financial advisors and institutions targeting high net worth clients, announced today that 19-year industry veteran Adam Cohen has joined the firm’s Research Team as Director of Fixed Income. Mr. Cohen, recently a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management (formerly Stein Roe Investment Counsel), will be responsible for overseeing all fixed income solutions of the firm, for appropriately positioning fixed income strategies within diversified portfolios, and for researching, selecting, and monitoring managers.“We are delighted to welcome Adam to our team,” says Scott Welch, Executive and Senior Managing Director of Investment Research and Strategy. “Investors and advisors are focusing more attention on fixed income solutions within their portfolios, and Adam’s experience and expertise plays perfectly into that increased interest. Adam holds a CFA charter and his most recent position was as a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager of Fixed Income at Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management, a HNW wealth advisory firm. In that capacity he managed an in-house portfolio of fixed income assets and participated in the due diligence process for outside managers.
Adam holds an MBA from Loyola University of Chicago and a Bachelor's degree in History from The College of Wooster. He is married and has two children. He will be based in Rockville, MD at Fortigent’s home office.
